COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Premium Weissbier at the top of its class. Not only in the context of the Erdinger assortment Erdinger Weissbier with fine yeast applies undisputed as the classical authors, as the white beer absolutely. It is brewed with fine yeast after a delivered prescription and naturally strictly after the Bavarian purity requirement. Today still without the traditional bottle fermentation one does not do here: Three to four weeks it lasts, until the Erdinger Weissbier with fine yeast matured. For the production only finest raw materials are used. Experience of many years and constant quality controls guarantee beyond that the unmistakable taste. A Weissbier for all, those the unforgettable good taste love.

Excellent Weiss beer. You do need the right glass for this one, also because of the initial head.

rauchbier (3205) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2002
UPDATED: JUN 3, 2006 Bottle, from Tesco. Hazy lemon gold, good fluffy white head and moderate condition. Low lemon citrus aroma with a touch of fruitiness, gently yeasty in the mouth with hints of lactic milkiness and a low yeasty-fruity finish. A bland Weissbier designed to appeal to as wide an audience as possible.

bierkoning (8109) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - MAR 12, 2002
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2003 Cloudy appearance (drink it with the yeast!). Thick head that lasts. Fruity taste (bit of banana). Smooth and very drinkable. Re-rate tap: less carbonated as in the bottle. Yeastier. Yoghurt. The banana flavor now really steps forward.

Ernest (5187) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 9, 2002
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2004 Head is initially huge, frothy, white, fully lasting. Body is hazy light yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly yeasty (dough, cheese), lightly malty (bread), with light notes of banana and lemon. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Bland, poor yeast quality, virtually no esters, not among the cleanest tasting. Very disappointing.

Dark yellow, hazy. Fruity aroma, but where is the esters? Medium bodied, rather thirst quenching, but one-dimensional and with an industrial feeling to it. Having tried perhaps 50 or so German brands of hefeweizen, I must say this is the least delicious of the bunch.
