3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2014 Bottle Cape Town. Pours cloudy yellow orange with medium head that fades quick and medium light carbonation. Aroma some yeast and slight citrus fruit and some tropical. Did not pick up the typical banana of the style. Taste slight sweet and mellow bitter. Overall enjoyable.

I’ve always really liked this beer, but I’ll admit, it never comes across as a traditional wheat beer. It’s spicy, but lacks the banana flavors and chewy mouthfeel that’s typical of the style (which is probably why I enjoy it! As I’m not a true wheat beer lover). Hard to explain my love for this one, as it has, to me, such a unique flavor.

Not as weiss as some others. Cloudy yellow with quickly disappearing top. Yeasty taste, a bit if citrus, but nothing very dramatic. Refreshing

Big white head, hazy light honey color. It lacks classic weissbier aroma of clove and banana. More like a pale lager aroma. Taste is faint yeast, sweetish and pretty full. A little of banana maybe. Disappointing.

Hazy golden with big fluffy head. Lots of sweet grains, some bitter yeast, some slight funk and a touch of citrus. Something metallic/medicinal too in the aftertaste. Great, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Some metallic notes that I don’t like, otherwise a slightly boring weiss.

Pours a slightly cloudy yellow with a thin white head. Nose is lightly spiced and musty. Taste is sweet. Thin body. Not much carbonation. Not bad, but nothing worth writing about.

Bottle poured into a pint glass. Hazy yellow orange, huge white head. Quite a mute aroma, weizen type banana, citrusy, etc. Taste is quite sweet, faintly yeasty. Nice, easy to drink, but not memorable at all.

Bought a bottle at the supermarket. The beer has a hazy golden color and a large white head, CO2 level is perfect. In the aroma tones of bananas and citrus but it’s not very strong. Also cloves and vanilla are noticable. The taste is sour with tones of lemon. The finish is short and easy and also has a light bitter. Not the best Weizen I had, because of the weak taste. Give me a Weihenstephaner or Franziskaner.

50cl bottle at home. Hazy yellow with a full white head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Sweet with some bitter notes. Banana, citrus and wheat. An ok hefeweizen.

Nice but unimpressive. It is a refreshing beer but lacks in flavor. I miss the bready wheat and yeast flavor I like in the style. On the up-side it does not have a funky flavor and sweetness you get in low quality weissens.
