The Premium Weissbier at the top of its class. Not only in the context of the Erdinger assortment Erdinger Weissbier with fine yeast applies undisputed as the classical authors, as the white beer absolutely. It is brewed with fine yeast after a delivered prescription and naturally strictly after the Bavarian purity requirement. Today still without the traditional bottle fermentation one does not do here: Three to four weeks it lasts, until the Erdinger Weissbier with fine yeast matured. For the production only finest raw materials are used. Experience of many years and constant quality controls guarantee beyond that the unmistakable taste. A Weissbier for all, those the unforgettable good taste love.

Draft my wife ordered at Frisco Taphouse (Columbia, MD) so I snagged a few sips. Cloudy straw-yellow color with white head. Somewhat light aroma of malt sweetness, wheat and some fruit (mainly banana) notes. Taste seemed to subdue the aroma sweetness, adds some spice notes (clove mostly). Light body, average carbonation, mellow, easy drinking with a minimal finish. Easy drinking hefe, maybe too easy as there’s not much to it.

Bottle. Watery, sweet and bland, balanced in part by a typical weizenesque tartness. Apples, pears and cinnamon bouquet. Forgettable and ultimately disappointing.

Poured from the tap. Cloudy orangey yellow with minimal white head. Very wheaty, mild citrus. Not much more. Fairly one note.

12 oz via bottle at Kinfolk Festival in Lyons. Wheat malts, Belgian yeast, herbs, light spice and light banana. Light to medium body, pretty easy to drink and somewhat refreshing.

"here’s a pretty nice banana and clove forward hefe. lacking a little compared to the best german examples (scneider, weihenstephaner) in flavor and body, but a pretty good, refreshing ale."

Draft at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati. Standard hefeweizen. I’ve had this before but guess I haven’t rated it, let’s see what Superspak has to say: " 500 ml bottle into signature weizen glass, best before 3/2013. Pours hazy golden amber color with a nice 2-3 finger fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of orange zest, banana, pepper, clove, apricot, wheat, earth, and yeast spiciness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance. Taste of banana, pear, wheat, pepper, clove, earth, bread, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of wheat, pepper, pear, banana, clove, earth, and yeast spices on the finish for a short bit. Flavors are well balanced with decent complexity; a bit on the watery side, but good. High carbonation and light-medium body; with a lightly creamy and very crisp and prickly mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good Hefeweizen. A bit watery, but the flavors are nicely balanced; and this is extremely easy and refreshing to drink. I did enjoy it."

A little bit of body but almost no taste. Spritzy carbonation and a light tartness in the finish. May be the most famous Hefeweizen on the market, but it is far from the best
