canary dog (370), Rutland, Vermont, USA Mar 29, 2008 I tried this again recently. The first bottle was pretty good, but It’s not a session beer. Towards the third bottle, it started to develop a cloying, adjunct-like taste.
FunkyBrewster (100), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pours a cloudy yellow orange with a large foamy white head. Aroma is very heavy on the wheat and malt with some sweet banana notes along with some zesty lemon. Flavor is mild on the start with some sweet malt. Tasted a bit stale to me but it must have been an older bottle. Very heavy on the wheat and not much by way of fruit or tartness. High carbonation as well. Very little crispness and a long grainy aftertaste. Medium bodied. This was a disappointing beer that I had high hopes for. Unfortunately it fell into mediocrity. esjaygee (664), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 16, 2008 Cloudy yellow with a huge white head, guess I poured it wrong… Aroma of grassy hops, lemon, yeast, toasted malt and very light banana. Banana comes out more in the taste but it’s still muted compared to most other hefe’s I’ve had. Wheat, light mint and mild spice join the banana flavor. Body is semi-thin, somewhat grainy and it finishes a bit dry and chalky. Not my favorite weiss beer, but passable. neo_hippie2 (104), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jul 16, 2008 This was a nice brew indeed. Golden amber pour with nice white head. Aromas of spices and malts. Many hefes have a banana character to them but this one had more of a citrusy character to it, in a good way. Good brew and would get it again. BusBoy (12), , California, USA Jul 14, 2008 I love the golden color. Nicely carbonated. Perfect balance of maltiness and spice. The aroma of citrus while tasting malt is nice. Buy far my favorite so far. laguerita (49), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 13, 2008 wow...a Hefe I actually liked. surprisingly light very mild. lacked the overpowering citrus character that makes me hate hefes in general.
