This gives ERDINGER Weissbier 'crystal clear' a sparkling and refreshing character which wheat-beer lovers appreciate, especially in summer.

Bottle from SuperValu, Longford [260614]
Golden, clear, huge big frothy white head which dissipates, slight lacing
Aroma of slight pale lager malts, soft sweet, almost nothing, but no off notes
Taste of sweet pale malts, slight light sweet honey, hint of light fruits, only really getting the wheat from the smoothness, rather boring in flavour
Palate - medium carb, light to medium body, soft sweet. Finish as main flavour, soft sweet, rather non-descript
Overall - Wheat beer for lager drinkers...no wonder they’re called ’castrated hefeweizens’ - most of the flavour has been knocked out. Drunk as a wheat lager it’s not too bad.......

Pale beer a light citrus aroma and a perfect, frothy head. Flavour has the citrus too but there’s a a blend of biscuit and caramel in there too. Finish is a touch water. The beer is crisp, refreshing and forgettable.

Pours a golden pale color with a medium-persistent white head. Sweet malt aroma, slightly grassy and hop notes. Sweet malt taste, with banana hints and citrus, with a soft bitter finishing. Very refreshing.

500ml bottle. Poured into my weizen glass. Clear golden color. Thin bubbly white head, with good retention. Leaves decent splotches of lace. Smooth, kind of soft, light to moderate carbonation. Light macro-type roughness to the texture. Lightly dry finish. Light to medium body, with a full feel. Bready wheaty flavor, lightly spicy. Hints of banana, not as much as a typical hefe has though. Light spice. Moderate bitter taste, mild bite to it. Moderate sweet. Kind of a mild macro-lager type taste and texture to this holds it back some. But it’s a reasonably easy-drinking and sort of refreshing weizen overall, still.
