Relatively weak aroma, and not very easy to pinpoint; a mixture of hops, metal, stables, and bananas. Clear, piss-golden; the head large but short-lived. Sweetish, hardly any bitterness or sourness at all. Body medium; sparkling; weak, sweet-sourish and a bit astringent finish. Will do as a table beer.

Bottle at Churchkey. Pours a clear golden orange color. The pour was the traditional upside down pour seen with Hefeweizens. Aromas of grapeskins and earthy light hay notes. Taste is sweet and well balanced. Refreshing beer and a style I have never experienced.

The aroma is banan, noble hops. The appearance gold, slight Amber, clear, white head. The flavor is hoppy, spicy, light grainy. The finish is hoppy, light banana, grainy. Like its hefe cousin, over hopped for the style. Medium in body. Odd, just like the regular hefe.

Unassuming German Wheat Beer that goes well with pizza and looks awesome in a tall half liter glass. A beer an old crummodgen would enjoy.

Bottle from Eltham WInes, Eltham. Gold pour with a fluffy white head... lots of life in this one. Aromas of banana, vanilla and fresh herb. Flavours of vanilla, light malt, peaches and cream. Creamy malt finish. Not too bad.

Brilliant clear golden with a classical German fluffy white head. Wheaty and clean nose with notes of wheat toast and clean german pale malts. Lovely, transportative flavor of clean biscuity german blonde malt, clean wheaty toast, and a summertime crisp blonde note on the finish. Tastes like I’m in Dusseldorf on a patio, and not in my livingroom in Denver.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2015 As Erdinger Kristall. Very pure and deep golden blonde colour, cristal clear as expected, with very strong, almost champagne-like, beautiful fizz; very thick and frothy, rocky, lacing, cream white, ’pompous’ head retaining well. Grainy and wheaty aroma, a bit sourish, grassy, hints of sourdough, apple peel, cava, lightly toasted bread, pear, kiwi, wet paper, bitter honey. Crisp and fruity taste, sour berries, starfruit and unripe peach, somewhat oily, smooth mouthfeel with strong, fizzy, minerally carbonation, a bit cava- or prosecco-like ’brut’ flavour, clear and refreshing wheat sourishness lasting till deep into the finish, where it is accompanied by a soft and pleasant bready maltiness and a subtle hint of grassy hop bitterishness providing structure and balance. Not very complex, as is usually the case with these filtered Weizens, but very decent for its style, refreshing and just fit for a sunny spring afternoon like this.
