Half-liter bottle, $1.50 @ Binny’s Bolingbrook. Let us now tick off Armenia just because I found a bottle cheap. Let us also be politically incorrect by prying the cap with an Efes bottle opener. Yeek! Smell of skunk and piss in the green bottle. Doesn’t let up in the glass, but instead airs out some adjuncts. Still, a clear golden yellow with a tight white head. Well, what did I expect for the price. Taste is corn additives knocked back with bittering agents. Each swallow makes me worry about this stuff. I notice the label doesn’t go to the pretext of reprinting any medals from old beer festivals.

Strongish Armenian lager with snow white head, golden colour and thin malt sweet taste, bit lightstruck aroma, grassy hops in an otherwise rather thin finish. I had worse in this style, I must admit.

Couleur dorée ambrée, petite mousse blanche. Nez assez malté. Gout malté doux. Corps huileux sans carbonation. Fin avec petite amertume, mais bière bien légère en gout pour une strong/imperial.

500ml bottle into a shaker glass; served cold. Aroma: Moderately sweet malt. A little honey, some moderate hop bitterness. Appearance: Slightly hazy, bronze body with a very thin white cap. Slow, moderate amount of visible carbonation. Medium lacing. Taste: Moderate amount of malt with an equal amount of hoppy bitterness. Very light, subtle sweetness. Palate: Medium body, with a medium+ length on the finish, which ends on moderate bitterness. Overall: Actually a really nice lager! Great hop bitterness rounds it all out. Tasty stuff!

Bottle @ Bobby’s house. Golden pour, some white foam. Skunk. Sheesh. Paper, apple, corn, pear, and water. Not pleasant. Flat, skunky, sweet palate. Some apple, paper, corn, and water. A bit of pear, sulfur, and a light bitterness.

Amber hazy pour some white head quickly disappears. Smells of roast grains, lychees and stinky hops. Tastes sweet like honey, lychees and somewhat herbal bitter hops. Somewhat strong carb. Some strong alcohol coming through. Unrefined but pretty good... better option that malt liquor for getting you drunk.

Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of jaghana. My version was at 5.2 ABV? A different beer? Golden colored with a white head. Pretty clean malty nose. Decent taste. Some sticky spotty chunky lace. Low bitterness. Malt accented. Unmemorable finish. Boring and without major flaws. Thanks a lot jaghana!

Bottle in Yerevan. Dark golden with a white head. Medium sweet and pretty grainy. Not much bitterness, but a hint of alcohol in the finish. Definitely one best widely available pale lagers in Armenia. Usually there wasn’t a huge selection available, but Kilikia is very common, followed by Kotayk Lager and different beers from Gyumri.

A pale gold pour with a thin, soapy-looking head. The aroma has notes of straw, light grain, and a mild earthiness. The light body is as thin as water with soft carbonation. The taste is bland and flavorless.
