The appearance is a thick, murky black. No light shall pass. Super dark brown, so it looks black. Mocha brown head, shrinks fast. The smell is grainy roasted malts with hints of chocolate. Oily and grainy oatmeal. No sweetness from fruit/berry aromas. Very dry. Nutty with mild breakfast blend coffee. Very good. The taste is mild plum and berry, followed by dry coffee. Sweet plum, raisin at first. Dry coffee, mocha, chocolate finish. Dark and dry. Love the dry, earthy malt at the end. No hops, doesn’t need them. Has a smooth, oily body. Thick and dry finish; a bit ashy. It’s a damn good sipper. Dry and ashy. A little sweet, nutty and mildly bitter.

Black, big thick brown head. Surprisingly faint aroma - maybe a little coffee, I guess. Coffee, flinty flavors at first. Dryish, and oddly thin, but not in a bad way. Tasty and quaffable.

From bottle. Light roasted bitter aroma with light chocolate, molasses, and a bit of smoke. Mild bitter hops and decent nose. Dark black clear with foamy-rocky light brown lacing head. Medium heavy watery body with medium carbonation. Starts semi-sweet with chocolatey molasses and light sourish tang. Dry carbonic bitter finish with a little smoky sweet after.

A very fine stout. Nice creamy flavor with chocolate, coffee, and toffee hints. Very smooth and flavorful.

Bottle Pours a good black with a nice tan head. The head is creamy with touches of fizz and leaves at an average spped. Produces a good lacing. Has a good aroma of toastedness, coffee, and caramel. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is decent. a touch on the soft side but all the oatmeal stout flavors are there. I think it is like a beginner stout. Has a less than thick texture. Has a decent finish. A soft aftertaste. This is not great but not bad either.

Pours black, with a tan head and does the whole bubble thing. Not that good of a beer. No distinguishing characteristics, a thin stout. And the label is ugly.

12-oz. Pours jet black with a towering, creamy, somewhat fluffy tannish head. Plenty of decent sheets of lace coming down the sides of the glass. Huge charred grain and coffee nose--tons of black patent and roast in this one for sure. Creamy medium body--all the acrid, acidic compounds in the darker malts prevent the oatmeal from attaining full silkiness of body. Or, maybe there’s just not that much oatmeal in here. Bittersweet chocolate mixes in with the roast, char, and coffee. Nice enough, easy drinking.
