JMFG (1514), Florida, USA Apr 23, 2009 Black pour, thin broken tan head. Mild roast and cocoa on the nose, maybe a bit of licorice. Very mild roast flavor, palate is a bit thin. The packaging looks cheap, FWIW. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Apr 22, 2009 very good yet more, carbonated and fizzy than malty and sweet, there is a minor amount of good malts with dark coffee and cocoa. palate is medium-thin. nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 22, 2009 The aroma is sweet and toasty. It also has oats, chocolate, smoke, peat, and coffee. The appearance is almost black with a thin tan head. The flavor is like the aroma but is not as tasty as I was hoping. The palate is about right. The overall rating is not as high as it could have been because this beer had so much potential and seems rather blah. blankboy (3157), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 18, 2009 Bottle (12oz). Pours black with a spare diminishing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate.
Flavour’s the same: Roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate along with a hint of smoke and oats. Average bodied. A bit thin but otherwise a decent Stout. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Apr 10, 2009 12 oz bottle picked up at Belmont Station. Deep black pour with a mid-sized brown head. Nice roasted malt aroma with a bit of toffee. Flavor mostly oatmeal and chocolate with a bit of roastiness. The whole thing is thrown off by how thin it is though, it’s like drinking a guinness. Not for me. jb (1024), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 9, 2009 A nice beer, but since it says ’sweet stout’ I expected a lot, didn’t deliver a lot. Very dark, attractive looking. Minimal head + lacing. Aroma is sweet and roasted/toasted notes. More of the same in the palate. Light palate. Some chocolate towards the end. Overall okay, not great. Beerman125 (18), , New York, USA Mar 29, 2009 Presented with a tempting aroma of toffee and malt. The flavor, however, was muted and the texture was thin. darn1207 (528), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Mar 14, 2009 12oz bottle from world of beer in tampa. dark brown pour with a finger of light brown head. somewhat muted aroma of roasted malt and dark chocolate. flavors of chocolate and coffee - but not getting any of the oatmeal. thin to medium texture with a milky metallic bite on the finish. pretty straightforward here. pleasant enough - just not a lot going on.
