Dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is roasty, burnt, and has some heavy dark chocolate. Flavor is pretty harsh - roughly burnt dark chocolate and overly roasty malt. Not too good.

12 oz bottle, KSBF 2007. Poured a dark brown body under an excessively large fizzy brown head that retained forever due to the very vigorous carbonation level. The nose is heavily roasted, almost burnt malt with some day old coffee, and chalky yeast. The flavor is a little thin and full of burnt ashy malt and a light lactose note that seems out of place even for a Sweet Stout. Mouthfeel is very over carbonated, it just foams up instantly as it hits the tongue. After the carb dies down when held in the mouth, the result is on the slightly thinner side with a watery texture. Overall, this was another poor offering from Erie. At least I got this at a festival instead of buying it!

KSBF07. Pour was a dark color thick aroma was of chocolate almost youngs double chocolateish. Flavor was chocolate and roasted coffee, not oatmeal though. Good beer better if oatmeal would have been there.

Bottle at KSBF07. Really big, dark black colored appearance, thick looking pour/body. The aroma was strong chocolate, maybe some bourboney-whisky type notes too. The flavor was bitter-sweet chocolate, other coffee and roasted malts. Missing the dry oatmeal finish, could have told me there was no oatmeal in the concoction. Body was full and a little sticky only broken up a little by the carbonation (not the "oats"). An ok beer, nothing like its imperial oatmeal brethren.

(KSq07, 12oz bottle) Rocky tan head atop brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, lactic sour, some earthy. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, some earthy, lactic sourness. Effervescent medium body.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark black color with a huge sized tan head. Aromas of roast, light chocolate, and coffee. Tastes were roasty, chocolate, coffee, and some oats. Body way to fizzy and over carbonated (as the huge head would have suggested).

12 oz bottle via Mystery Swap 2.0 (thanks doclock!). Pours black with a huge tan head that takes up 90% of the mug from the get-go. Nose is a nice vanilla, almonds and roasted coffee. Tastes exactly like it smells plus some oats and chocolate. Body is medium, mouthfeel is fizzy as this is quite highly carbonated. This is a very tasty oatmeal stout with a massive head that is really trying my patience, as it is taking almost forever to finish this thing.

Six pack purchased @ AJ’s Sports bar in Levittown, Pa. Pours Black with a large brown head. Aroma of Chocolate malts, roast, sweetness, and coffee. The flavor is sweet, roasted chocolate, and finishes with a dry bitterness.
