Poured a dark black color with a huge sized tan head. Aromas of roast, light chocolate, and coffee. Tastes were roasty, chocolate, coffee, and some oats. Deep blackish pour with big, 3-finger brown head that goes away fairly quickly. Aroma of roasty dark malt, chocoff, some jalapeno oil. Tastes rich, roasty malty, with some chocoff, ovaltine, and slight dark fruit hints as it warms. Aroma of roasted malts, light smoke, anise, cocoa, and a bit of smoke. Taste of more roast, smoke, burnt malts, some lactic acid, more anise, and an acidic mouthfeel. Flavor is lots of roast and some slight chocolate and maybe a touch of coffee. Fizzy and overcarbonated on the palate with a somewhat dry finish for a sweet stout.
