Poured dark black, with foamy/creamy light brown head. Aroma roasty, malty, with slight sweetness. Flavor of malts with hints of caramel, roasted oats, and an underlying sweetness. Light mouthfeel. Good carbonation, tingly on my tounge. I didn’t get any bitterness throughout. Smooth and easy to drink, this was gone before I knew it. This is one of the best sweetstouts I have had.
Ron (737), Rochester, New York, USA Aug 16, 2008 2008 Flour City Brewfest. Light chocolate aroma. Nice big tan head from the black body. Medium palate. Chocolate flavor is a bit thin, but enjoyable. A solid sweet stout. jjpm74 (2878), Connecticut, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle courtesy of beerman6686. Pours dark brown with a thin light brown head. Smells of chocolate, coffee, hints of nuts. Funknmilla (511), Absecon, New Jersey, USA Jul 12, 2008 12oz bottle...aroma--cocoa and paint thinner...pours dark brown with a crazy head of brown sugar...thin body with a tinge of metal...a muddled cherry and bitterness to the cherry...some toffee and a chalky mouth feel..its ok to pound down...not great...probably wouldn’t buy again...but the bottle may be bad??...so that would be the only time to retry , but not anytime soon swoopjones (1092), Buffalo, New York, USA Jun 19, 2008 Sample @ Village Beer Merchants Erie Tasting. Decent stout but needs more body. aroma of roasted malts, chocolate. Nice roasty flavor. All the elements for a quality stout are here except the body.
