Pours a a hazy orangish color with a small white head. Aroma was mainly of bland wheat and some clove. Flavor was also very watery with a some mild spiciness to it. cheapdark (2050), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Updated: Jul 11, 2008 Brown 12 oz bottle. I never expected this quality from Erie. When I purchased it, it looked like some kind of clear ale. But when I poured it into my steeler stein it was cloudy light brown. Aroma of a little skunk and then its yeasty vegatables. Has some hints of citrus in the initial taste bud hit. The bottle has a layer of tan muck in the bottem. This is a pretty good effort and I think it’s better than Penns Hefe. I’m glad I tried this, I almost passed it by in favor of some other beer. Worth a try, get some. Not too many beer tasters have rated this one. zebracakes (1219), Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2006 Bottle. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Aroma is sausage, coriander, lemon, and malt. Flavor is spicy and wheaty at first, but then the taste drops off dramatically. If it weren’t for the flavor dying at the end, this would be a pretty decent Hefeweizen. | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 7, 2006 This beer really failed to impress me. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale golden color with a large white head. The aroma is sour and lightly lemony with an element reminiscent of windex. The flavor is bitter with mild lemon and again a windex like flavor. There is a moderate wheaty undertone. MrBeer (276), Erie, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 24, 2005 Came in the holiday special case along with the Fallenbock and the Heritage Ale. Pours a pale hazy yellow color with a small amount of fizzy white head and a lot of yeasty sediment at the bottom. Aroma is slighty sour, yeasty, wheaty, and coriander. Flavor is rather watery, light, and pretty sweet with wheaty coriander finish. Overall, I didnt find this to be all that great, especially not for a winter release.
