ruinah (5), , Maryland, USA does not count Jul 22, 2008 Has a nose of a C hop, maybe Cascades? Pours rather cloudy and almost looks like a burnt orange color. Head rentention is very low and dooesn’t sem very carbonated. The initial taste has few hops and a malty flavor but not overpowering like some of the others have posted. Some sort of C hops in the arsenal here like Cascades (that would be my bet, or maybe chinook). It has somewhat of an alcohol taste to it which isn’t that appropriate for this style. Overall not a great beer, drinkable of course but there are a lot of better examples of an APA. I’d drink Sierra Nevada over this any day. hophead75 (1631), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jul 16, 2008 12 oz bottle. Clear orange in color. Aroma is very grainy and malty, can’t pick up too much hop character in this- not too good. Taste is worse, very grainy, some light butter, and almost no hop character at all. Ugh, this one has to be old, at least I really hope it is. ATLBeerDog (137), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 20, 2008 Pours light orange with not much carbonation. No head. Light smells of fruit and malt. Very light body. First taste is fruity followed by a slight bitterness. Very light and mild. Less flavor than I expected. Not too tasty. swoopjones (1048), Buffalo, New York, USA Jun 19, 2008 Sample @ Village Beer Merchants Erie Tasting. Decent APA. Had before & it has gotten much better. Copper colored nice balance. Nice hop flavor. Good mouthfeel. Malts balance well. Good APA tjthresh (1257), LaPorte, Indiana and Belton, Missouri, USA Jun 11, 2008 Pours clear copper with a white head. A bunch of lace. The nose shows some signs of American hops, but there is a bunch of biscuit malt character. The hop flavor is more on the earthy side, and there’s a strong malt backbone. Medium body, but a bit watery. High carbonation. Dry, malt driving finish.
