CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Oct 22, 2007 Bottle, labeled Mad Anthony’s APA: Pours a transparent golden with a thin-lacing white head. Aroma of slightly earthy, piny hops and semi-sweet lightly toasted pale malt. Starts with a mild sweetness and some earthy bittering hops toward a crisper, bittersweet finish. A decent amber/APA. HopBackDoc (393), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 22, 2007 Sampled at the Newtown Brewfest, from the bottle. Dark amber color with small head. Aroma of caramel and grassy hops. Flavor was much of the same, with the malts dominating and a mild hop finish. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Oct 19, 2007 Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Pours a amber hue with a fading foamy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of faint grassy and floral hops, just a hint of citrus, biscuity and caramel malt, and a dash of medicinal vapour. The taste is rather boring after an initial hit of some bitterness which was covered by layer of pale and chewy malts. There was not much depth, just the same old same old. The mouth feel is a major issue, just sits there, sharp enough carbonation but the finish is so doughy it became just very unpleasurable. WHERE IS THE EKG or FUGGLES? The hops were wasted on the beer. kozfromupnort (19), goshen, Indiana, USA Oct 17, 2007 amber color with small to med head
intitial flavor is carmel not enough bitter in the finish Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 5, 2007 Much like their erie railbender ale, this but was a bit thick and syrupy for sopme reason, dont know why, not much alchol and its an amber ale? Silphium (2117), Haslett, Michigan, USA Sep 23, 2007 On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Golden body, medium, dense off-white head. Light bready, medicinal aroma. Citrusy, lemony hops dominate the palate, backed by bready, toasty malts. Moderate hops bite. Strongly carbonated. Not bad, but not particularly drinkable, either, due to the sharp carbonation and overhopping. nuplastikk (1161), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 11, 2007 Pretty good APA. Floral hop bouquet, not overboard cascade, but more of a mellow, fruity bitterness. Caramel malt undertones. Very well balanced ale. Perfect session beer for a hop head. madscotsman (147), Fairview Heights, Illinois, USA Sep 3, 2007 poured amber in color with a very small white head. A bit of hops when it hits your palate but nothing really afterwards.
