GodOfThunder (855), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 30, 2008 Smells of citrus hops with a crisp malty backbone. Lots of hot bitterness in the taste but still light and refreshing. Surprisingly easy drinking for having such a strong bitter flavor. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Dec 29, 2008 Bottle. Caramel malt - ish with sweaty socks and stinky feet, still enjoying the festivities. Very natural with some floral and wild yeasty notes. Cellar-ish. Sickly pale golden gradient with an absolutely lovely, bake-ready dense beige head, rocky and pillowing. Crisp medium-light body, dry and lightly bitter, with both qualities lasting long. Caramel and orange rind with light astringency. I love how they re getting down and dirty with the hops here, it s almost obscene! nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 23, 2008 Updated: Dec 25, 2008The aroma is very hoppy with slightly toasted caramel malt and leaves and pine. The appearance is light amber gold with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma but soapy in the finish. The palate is thin but smooth from carbonation. The beer is good but not great. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 19, 2008 pours orange, white head.
Aroma herbal and hoppy with a nice caramel malt nose with sweet almost nutty presence.
Taste hoppy, fruity and herbal with light caramel.
I enjoyed the actual aroma of the beer a lot more than the palate.
Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Dec 14, 2008 it looks good and has a full body, very carbinated. the main problem is the malts are too weak while the hops are too piney. decent joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA Dec 9, 2008 pours a pretty ruddy orange color with minimal head and nice lacing carael maltiness grapes and hops has a nice balanced hop and malt flavor easy on the palate thehinge (244), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Nov 21, 2008 Hazey orange pour with a small white head. Does lace nicely to the side of the glass. This ale is beginning to grow on me, too bad it’s not available in DE. Lemony front end with a medium hop note in the aftertaste. I’d buy this again. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Nov 19, 2008 12 oz bottle into shaker. Different label, so I am assuming it is the 2008 release. My initial thought was that this beer was pretty boring (but that was because it was served freezing cold). As it warmed up I noticed a very pleasant balance between hops and doughy malt. No flaws, highly drinkable. Tamed, but very solid.
