tjthresh (1735), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jun 11, 2008 Pours clear copper with a white head. A bunch of lace. The nose shows some signs of American hops, but there is a bunch of biscuit malt character. The hop flavor is more on the earthy side, and there’s a strong malt backbone. Medium body, but a bit watery. High carbonation. Dry, malt driving finish. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottle acquired in a trade with The Captain. Thanks Mark. Pours orange-gold with a thin head into an English pint glass. Smells of citrus and biscuit. Flavors of nuts and light hops are present. Palate is very thin and watery. Nothing extraordinary but would make a good summer session beer. WISEGUY572 (1244), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 29, 2008 A dead center no impact amber, even if they call it an American pale. Rich amber color, small head, no lace. Caramel, nuts, and some British hopping; not as bad as the other Erie. Still a tad thin and dead in the mouth. Drinkable in a pinch, but I’m not there yet. This one is going to be used as steam in a smoker. HighlanderOne (537), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA May 24, 2008 Poured from bottle 5/2008. Smells great - sweet malty aroma. Medium amber, lacing head. Very nicely hopped, nice malt notes blend in well. Hops linger in aftertaste. Finished nicely. Good choice. TheCaptain (526), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle, mixed case. Poured a clear burnt orange amber, Simmering white head with some lacing. Hops and a tinge of citrus aroma that carries into the pallet. Some sweetness with a lemon citrus character and hops up front, tangy. Again, Ok average. Appearance: Honey gold ale with presentable foamy top. Fine lacing. 3+. Nose :Hop crisp , freshness with light mineral-fruity side , hint of apricot and pear. Flavor/Palate : Slightly nutty front with sweetened hop elements. Smooth , medium bodied ale. Fairly drinkable brew , enjoyable.
tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 20, 2008 Bottle at the no Greg tasting, courtesy of, of course, Greg, shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, Jerc, and Mabel. Dark yellow, foamy bubbly white head. Mild grainy aroma - ok at best. Good amount of hops in taste - clean, well made classic APA. Decent drinking beer. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Apr 20, 2008 Pours a nice orange color with a decent sized white head. Citrus hop aroma Pretty moderate on the hops in the flavor, but very strong bitter hop finish that hands around forever. Almost a tongue killer. If it was a bit more mellow it would be very drinkable.
