Aroma is sweet, with honey and pickled peaches tones. Misty, medium oak color, good label, good cap, standard US longneck. Honey and vanilla tones, strongly carbonated at first -- then the beer mellows out and just tastes like a standard NY micro PA. A bit grassy towards the end, medium body. Fair, with some distinctive/memorable qualities - I would be able to identify this blind in the future.

[1278-20080410] 12floz bottle. Multi-grain tortilla aroma with a bit of floral toasted yeast flour. Clear, golden orange body with a quick creamy white head. Floral yeast bread flavour continues with more multi-grain butter and bitter hops. Medium body is gravelly. A little too unrefined, too rough.

Appearance: Pours a clear, gold-orange body with a tiny, bubbly, white head. Smell: Altogether grainy aroma with notes of toffee and dehydrated orange peels. Taste: Grainy, aged malt taste with hints of toffee and honey. Spicy, floral hop character, maybe a touch of citrus. Medium-low bitterness present. Sip of water washes away the remaining malts leaving you with a bitterish finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-low carbonation. Drinkability: No thanks! I’m starting to realize what’s got Anthony so riled up.

Bottle at the no Greg tasting, courtesy of, of course, Greg, shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, Jerc, and Mabel. Dark yellow, foamy bubbly white head. Mild grainy aroma - ok at best. Good amount of hops in taste - clean, well made classic APA. Decent drinking beer.

This one had a pretty strong dusty, stale Tootsie Roll aroma to start. Sweet caramel malts that had sat in the back of the barn next to the opened tin of cocoa powder. Pleasant and comforting, but fleeting. There was also just a bit of floral hoppiness. The color was medium amber-brown with a little bit of haziness to it. The head foamed and died pretty quickly, with just a small, half-dollar sized gathering of bubbles in the middle of the glass. Had a medium watery body to it, with a good dose of carbonation. The taste starts with a good hit of sweetness. Dusty oats and cocoa powder or stale Tootsie Rolls. Really reminded me of the ales of some of Brittany’s microbrewers. Floral and musty, with some Belgian/French ale yeasts and chocolately sweetness. There was a mild dry bitter finish, faint, with some carbonic tingling on the gums and lips. The after was pleasant, but nothing spectacular.

12 oz bottle, D’s 6-pack Pittsburgh PA. Pours a slightly murky dark copper body under a smallish foamy off-white head that left some spotty lacing. Aroma isn’t the most pleasant, sort of a garbagy smell with undertones of doughy pale malts. Flavor is thin and uninspiring up front with a bland bready and yeasty finish. Very watery front to back. Mouthfeel is thin, watery, and has moderate fizzy carbonation. I had no idea what style this was when I drank this. This was boring and terrible, and I feel like I was cheated for wasting money on this.

Bottle from Erie Brewing sampler pack. Clear golden-orange with a small but persistent snow white head. Aroma is pleasant and balanced, with fresh-smelling malt and some slightly citric hops. Thin, crisp mouthfeel. Flavour is nice, following on the aroma with a good balance of sweet malt and tangy hops, and a good finish. A simple but enjoyable quaffer that’s a bit underrated, IMO.

Amber coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of alcohol, metal, blood, malt and some fresh hops. Light to Medium-bodied; Potent hoppy flavour along with blood and malt. Aftertaste shows a lot of alcohol and some malt but little else. Overall, a strong but decent beer - one to try if you can find it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 19-May-2007 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
