A amber body with an off white head that had nice retention and lace. Aroma had a nice Carmel malt presence. A nice hop profile. Mostly grapefruit but there was a generic bitterness to it. Flavor was initially sweet. Hops were nice and balanced. There was more bitterness than the aroma indicated. Finish was moderately dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours orange-yellow, with a little head. Nothing too great, not too hoppy or too heavy. I don’t really love it all that much, there’s nothing really distinctively great.

Argh. Nose hinted at some floral hops and caramel malts, fairly simple in construction, but also moreso diacetyl. Flavor was dominated by diacetyl with some spicy hops skirting the edges, and a sweet malt base. Misery Bay indeed.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours hazy amber orange, quick head, little lacing, some retention. Aroma of caramel and pine. Taste is earthy bitter, moderately sweet. Light body, medium carbonation, thin mouth feel. Finishes earthy bitter. Tasting notes of grass, caramel, pine, herbs, metallic and resin. An average IPA for me.

Bottle from ABC. Pours a murky orange with almost no head at all and some very thin lacing. Aromas are pretty basic - bright fruits, pine, grass. Taste is pretty bitter and matches the nose accordingly. Really thin bodied, dry, and pretty unmemorable, though not a total misstep. Probably refreshing after a rough day. Acquire.

Serving: Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a decent off white head. Rather light nose. Bits of citrus and grains. The flavor is equally weak with a bit of stale citrus hops, malt, grain, and light caramel. Thin mouthfeel. Not worth seeking out.

Pours deep golden brown--looking good so far--but sadly disappoints with minimal aroma, flat flavor profile and thin body and seltzer-like mouth feel. Boring.

Bottle - courtesy of Braudog. Thanks Matt. Pours amber with a short white head. Aroma is hoppy and floral with light citrus notes and soft hop resins. Light caramel as well. taste is caramel, toasted malt, Bit O Honey, floral hops, hop resins and soft citrus notes. Body is medium with a moderate bubbly carbonation. Ends with more caramel, sweet malt, toasted grains, floral hops, citrus, grassy notes and hops resins.

Transfer from BA review on 10-29-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – The beer pours an amber-copper color with a huge white head that has fantastic retention. Over time the billowy head slowly fades over time to give a nice amount of lacing. Smell – The aroma is a nice mix of sweet and hoppy. A sweet tropical fruit aroma of tangerine, mango, and papaya mix with some citrus hop aromas as well as a lighter earthy smell. Taste – The taste starts out quite bready, with less sweetness then would have been anticipated from the nose. With the bready flavor is a lighter citrus flavor as well as a very light caramel taste. As the taste advances further the bready flavor fades some while the citrus hop grows stronger. With the citrus comes some earthy and pine hop flavors as well. In the end these flavors all combined to leave a citrus and earthy flavor in the mouth. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the creamier side with a carbonation level that is slightly below average. Both are quite nice for the hop and bready flavors and make for a good feeling brew. Overall – A nice drinking IPA with a smooth taste and good feel.

Not bad, maybe I’ll give it a better rating drinking it from a glass next time. More words

Bottle. Dark bronze, creamy head. Nice "beery" aroma of the outdoors -- malty and rich, with a decidedly tannic finish ... like oaken citrus maybe? Thick and viscous for sure. (#5570, 7/4/2014)
