Pours brilliant dark copper with gold edges and thin tan head. The aroma pushes up notes of musty dark fruit and some sweet malts and not too much else. The taste has levels of roasty malts as well as sweet malts moving into dark fruity esters. It gets fully sweet as the finish approaches with sweet malts, sweet raisins, prunes, figs and apricots. Very little sense of the big ABV. markwise (1175), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2008 I like this beer, and at 10 percent, that is dangerous. Pours brownsih red with spice, sugar, smoke, caramel, toffee, and rye in the nose. Flavor has fruit with sugar and an almost strawberry sweetness lingering. Finish sticks around and stays a while. iride15 (171), Orlando, Florida, USA

Aroma is weak with fruit, rye, hops and malt. Dark red poor. Thin bodied flavor of sweet malts. Average quality beer. dchmela (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA

Fruity citrus malty aroma. Big malt caramel more hints of fruit and very thick tasting. Finishes malty and thick with just a hint of chocolate. Very solid session beer. michael-pollack (2654), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 5, 2008 On tap at Redlight. Nice deep red color, thin white head. Sticky hop character backed by sweeter malt notes. Taste is thin, on the bland side, mostly earthy hops and slightly sweet malts. Definitely more of a Scottish to me, and certainly did not taste like 10%. Seems like that should be a mistake. redlight (1460), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 4, 2008 draft @ redlight redlight. Sweet malty aromas, sweet fruits, with traces of vanilla. It pours a very rich red color with a very thick fluffy white head, a beautiful looking beer! Extremely sweet and malty, sweet caramel, vanilla, traces of spicy hops in the finish. I could use more hops to balance this one out, its good, but a little too sweet for me.
