Draft... GBOA ’06... Textbook amber ale with a large, frothy, khaki head. Excellent retention. Malty, sweet nose with notes of tropical fruit, maple syrup and toffee. Medium sweet, lightly bitter flavor with lots of toffee, caramel and just a hint of maple syrup. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Lengthy, bittersweet finish.

Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet caramely malt with a touch of grainy notes, earthy hops, and some alcohol. Body starts with decent fullness and earthy toasty notes with a touch of peat and some warming peppery alcohol toward the finish. A pretty decent Scotch ale, but could hide the alcohol a little better.

12 oz bottle. Deep amber beer with a thin white head. Very sweet caramelly malt aroma. A little bit of herbal/spicy hop flavour over a chewy sweet maltiness. Earthy and leathery with a rich sweet, slightly warming finish. Decent brew.

Eeech! Despite the rating average that I saw when I went to this beer’s page (which gives my answer to many a question on the threads), I like this brew.
Very handsome pour, a clear ruby body, well carbonated, topped by a creamy beige head. The aroma is sweet with scents of maltose and red cherries and fresh apples and rich caramel counterposed by pine and grapefruit hops, quiet but doing the job. Very fresh fruity flavor accompanied by a caramel/toffee sweetness against which the hoppy bitterness battles nearly in vain. The finish carries a fruity sweetness and a low alcohol burn. I was taken aback by the latter, still finding it difficult to belive its recorded ABV. Very nice.
Very nice beer, and way too complex for the likes of <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=19069>drewbeerme to appreciate.
