12oz bottle. I like the alcohol content on this, complements the Scottish ale beers. Aroma is weak with fruit, rye, hops and malt. Dark red poor. Thin bodied flavor of sweet malts. Average quality beer.

This is a very strong flavored rich ale. It has a strong intial taste and a lasting aftertaste. Was pleased with this beer although it could have been more hoppy.

This was a decent beer but nothing spectacular. It did not taste like a Scottish Ale as listed.

Bottle shared with tupalev & jerc - courtesy of tupalev. Orange-amber colour with a tiny head. Moderate hops and a bit of chocolate on the nose. Flavour is a bit grainy, with mellow hops, fairly average and non-descript. Hard to believe it’s 9.3%!

Bottle. Aroma is nothing to get even slightly excited about. All I’m picking up is a slightly metallic scent and a touch of sweetness. Pour is a nice brown hue with a minimal head that is almost completely gone after a minute. Flavor is fairly pleasant... it develops from an initial sweet malt presence to a bit of a spicy transition phase that ends with a bit of an alcoholic presence. I’m still picking up some metal in there from time to time... either in the nose or an occasional sip. Body is slighly heavy... not really syrupy, but just kind of thick. I am picking up some fruit presence that others have noted, but it is subtle and seems to get buried between the heavily caramel malt and the alcoholic finish. Ho hum!

This was on tap at Fat Heads in the South Side in the winter 2004. Has a rediish hue to it. A average head to it. A sweet taste to get me back into the world beers once again Was potable and good to the last drop.

KSBF07 Poured a dark copper color with small head. Aroma was caramel brown sugar and wood. Flavor was much the same with some floral hops and some fruit in there. Little to sweet.

Brownich amber with no head. Dangerous. Does not taste like 10% Smooth and caramelly but some odd flavor as well. Some dirt and woods with the a hint of hops. Does not taste like a scotch ale to me.
