Wee Heavy Ale: Powerful caramel malt flavor, finishing climatically with a smooth warming sensation. Deep Red. 19.9°

Erie Brewing Company presents the beer previously know as “Red Ryder BIG Beer.” Red Ryder was dubiously awarded two “cease and desist” orders for its name. So with its unique new name (inspired by the long arm of the law), Ol’ Red Cease and Desist brings more to the table than just a big, malty flavor and climaxing warm sensation, it brings a legal record!

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Comes as "Erie Brewing Ol Red Cease & Desist Wee Heavy Ale". Pours amber with a slight haze with an off-white head. Sweet and slightly perfumy caramellish aroma. Rich body, caramel and biscuit, again a little perfume and a warming alcohol finish. A malt lovers dream. 190412

Not much aroma, a little sweet, with that bitterness one would taste in caramel translated to smell. Decent head, nice dark red hue. Taste is slightly sickly sweet, and rough and boozy on the palate. Despite this, high overall score - despite these issues I like this beer.

Not much to it’s aroma, maybe a light hoppy smell. It’s color is a clear brown. No head when poured, light bitter taste that lingers for a bit. A great regular beer to enjoy.

Better than I expected. Red, small off white head, nose of caramel and sweet malts and peat smoke. Good oily mouth feel, hence the constant use of wee heavy and old viscosity as names for smokey beers. Taste of caramel, sweet roasted malts, and smoke.
