Oct 19, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear medium amber with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Virtually no lacing. Aroma is mild maltiness and caramel. Flavor is initially sweet, some molasses followed by a slightly phenolic and warming finish. Light body, soft carbonation. Actually a decent old ale.

Sep 30, 2008 Pours amber with modest head. Aroma is sweet caramel, and resinous hops. Flavor is much the same- again lots of earthy hops and caramel malt. Slightly astringent in the finish. Palate is medium.

Sep 28, 2008 Brewed in the USA !! Pours a dark amber color with a dissipating off white head. The aroma is of malts, caramel and biscuits. The taste is kind of the same and the 6.8% might sneak up on you. Not bad !! might try again.

does not count  Sep 9, 2008 Bottle. Not a very interesting brew. Aroma is not the most pleasent. The initial flavor is a bit boring then followed by the slight sweetness you would expect. The flavor of the alcohol comes out in the aftertaste. Aside from being on the potent side there is not really anything here you haven’t had before. Not worth broadening horizons for.

Sep 3, 2008 Bottle at Rick’s Sports Bar (Murrysville). Pours a clear amber, nice off-white head that doesn’t stick around very long. Aroma is sweet, caramel, malt, just like the description. Flavor is more of the same, nice toffee/caramel, malt, sweet, but not in a bad way, maybe a touch of faint raisin hiding in the background.
