demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Jan 17, 2008 12 oz bottle: Pours a clear amber/golden color with a huge off white head that lingers around for a while. Aroma is Malty, caramel, and a bit of smoke. Taste is malts, caramel, yeast, bready, and a decent brew. Overall, I think it good not one of the top tier beer that I’ve ever had but good all around. rob897 (62), Buffalo, New York, USA Jan 17, 2008 Not much flavor but had a very smooth finish, weak hops, not at all what I was expecting carl4beer (394), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA Jan 14, 2008 pours clear copper with small head. aroma is mild of some malt, a little sweet and a hint of yeast. mouthful is smooth with malt and yeast, with a bitter finnish. decent... Homebrewerguy (284), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 13, 2008 Updated: Feb 16, 2008Good attempt at an old ale without all the spices, Nice malty aroma, pours with a good head and lacing, flavor is very malty with some hops as well, hides the alcohol well but delivers a warmth to the tummy. Rerate: this bottle has more of a taste and aroma of catty hops. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Jan 6, 2008 nice caramel taste that is moderately sweet. good hop midpalate. cannot help but notice a cherry finish that i describe as classic (therefore i agree with the conotation of old beer) i like this brew it has old world classic all over the taste and palate and for that matter the carbonation. malt flavors are more than adequate and they pair well with the enjoable hop character that is -soft- rather than lite. good alcohol. LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Jan 2, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours cloudy amber in color with off white head. Aroma malty and lite hops. Taste of caramel and malt with bitter finsih. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Dec 31, 2007 12oz - Aroma is artificially sweet, malt forward with just a hint of hop bitterness. Pours dark copper with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is sweet caramel malts, fruit flavored candy and subtle earthy hops. Palate is syrupy and a little sticky. Not bad, but a little too artificially sweet for me. Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Dec 16, 2007 Thin light beige head of fine bubbles. Light carbonation. Soft malt aroma with some cinnamon and vegetal aromas. Kind of bland though. Color is a dark copper. Sweet and malty flavor. Noticable alcohol presence. Little bit of caramel. Flavor is better than the aroma. Sweet finish. A decent brew.
