bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 24, 2007 I really quite liked this. It’s by no means great but it’s definitely drinkable. Pours a burnt orange color with little head. Aroma of light roasted malt, bread dough and a faint hop linger. Much sweeter than I expected but not in a bad way. Big caramel blended with rock candy followed by a malty finish. Very slight hop profile, but barely noticeable. Overall I was quite surprised by this brew. patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 21, 2007 bottle - Pours light amber with a medium sized head. The aroma is lightly roasted malts with a touch of citrus. The flavor is pretty sweet with a little bit of hops in the background and some alcohol flavor coming through. The body is somewhat thinner than I would have liked though what we end up with is an easy drinking beer for the alcohol content. Decent. badgerben (3587), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Aug 18, 2007 The last in a trade from Crizay. Copper color with no head. Caramel aroma. The taste is very simple, just a little English hop and slight malt sweetness to balance each other out. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Aug 15, 2007 thanks Badgerben! Light carmel color with a faint malty nose and a sweet cereal grain flavor. WISEGUY572 (1244), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 13, 2007 Dead center mediocrity. Dark brown, small head, leaves only a film. Caramel malt, not much bitterness, not much finish. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 12, 2007 Single 12-oz bottle shared by Badgerben, pours a orange-coppery amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and ring. Aroma of dark caramel malt, some flowery hops with a touch of pineapple and orange scents. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel malt and fruity hops. Finish is slightly acidic, flat with a slight caramel aftertaste. Missing some of the bitterness of an old ale. JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Aug 11, 2007 Not much to say about this. Light hop aroma. Cloudy and dark brown. Malt flavor and a little sugar. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jul 31, 2007 Lightest colored beer I’ve had of this style to date, a deep gold with a film in lieu of a head. The aroma is faint, caramel with toffee. Little else. The heavy carbonation is a distraction from the desired malty flavor, leaving you with a bit of caramel with a lemon twist and a light floral bitterness in the finish. Uninspired.
