May 19, 2005 Copper colored appearance with a mid sized, white head and little lacing. Soft fruits, along with a hint of toffee, are evident in the aroma. The smokey, peaty scents and flavors typically associated with this style are pretty mute. Mildly carbonated and medium-bodied with a finish that is fruity, floral and a bit sweet.

Dec 31, 2007 12oz - Aroma is artificially sweet, malt forward with just a hint of hop bitterness. Pours dark copper with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is sweet caramel malts, fruit flavored candy and subtle earthy hops. Palate is syrupy and a little sticky. Not bad, but a little too artificially sweet for me.

Jan 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear orange, off white head. Aroma is caramel, malt, hops. Flavor is the same. This is very malty with a weak body.

Jun 23, 2007 Poured an effervescent amber with a large fluffy white head. Somewhat subdued aroma of toffee, caramel, some grassy hops and a bit of varnish. Flavor is bitter and strongly alcoholic with notes of toffee, some grass, a bit of sweet citrus fruit, but still the overpowering ashen metallic alcohol flavor corrupts all. I suppose it’s reasonably decent, but still feels somewhat carelessly made. Big without loads of character.

Mar 29, 2008 Oct. 2007 - Crystal clear light amber orange color, almost no head or lacing. Aroma of citrus rinds. Strange beer which defies style. Sweet caramel with English style hops, but also lots of brown sugar and ripe citrus rind hops as well. Light and crisp, but yet still sweet. Not bad.

Aug 1, 2009 Found this one bottled in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Cloudy, slightly bubbly, bright reddish brown pour with a bubbly tan head, nose of cherry and sweet malts, interesting flavor, complex, fruity, cherry, grapefruit, floral in the finish, rosy hops. Good beer, but unusual for the style.
