Taste was again sweet with some peat in the background. I am usually not a fan of Scottish ales but this was pretty good. A good sipping beer.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 4, 2010 Typical that this very sessionable ale gets a lower mark than inferior offerings from Erie on this site. This is a more drinkable, light, more enjoyable Scottish style than many of this type. Enjoyable. shp555 (1776), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

A pretty tame but malty aroma, and the flavor is malty sweet with a chocolate punch, some nuttiness, and a slighty smokey finish, but not much. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Pours a dark amber colour with a soft creamy beige top. Aroma is very pleasent. Noticeable peat, some smoke and caramel notes are forward on the nose. Taste is light, suprised me actually. Thought it might be a wee bit heavier. Ah! get it- "wee bit"? Maybe im thinking of a scotch though. Taste has some pleasent sweetness, some syrupy notes but overall fairly light.
