Pour was a medium brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was perfect (for me anyway). All smoky goodness with some roasted malt peeking through slightly. Carbonation was huge...biting at the cheeks deliciously. All around near perfect beer. Dogbrick (2925), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Sample at Vintage Estate. The beer is a clear dark amber color with a thin off-white head that diminishes to a film quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of earthy malt and smoke. Medium body with a smoked meat character with notes of malt and mentho lyptus cough drops. The finish is smoky with a brisket aftertaste. Not a great beer overall. jcwattsrugger (5583), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Draft at redlight redlight. Pours a light amber. The nose is mostly buttery, a little butterscotch, very subtle hint of peat smoke behind it all. The flavor is a little sweet. Again more buttery to me than anything. I’m trying to think of a good smoky scotch while I drink it, but I’m not really getting it. Pretty disappointing. I was looking forward to this one, but it isn’t working for me. redlight (1522), Winter Park, Florida, USA
