TBone (4841), Pori, Finland Mar 21, 2008 Bottled (BB 04/2008)
Dark amber color, small beige head. Grassy-caramelly, toasted aroma (quite typical for Vienna-type Swedish and Finnish beers). Burned sugary, harsh grainy and caramelly flavor. All the way very typical Swedish/Finnish Christmas beer. oh6gdx (5195), Vaasa, Finland Mar 21, 2008 Bottled (thanks omhper). Deep reddish amber colour with small off-white head. Aroma is parfume, citrusfruits, some caramel malts and a bit wooden. Flavour is caramel malts, citrusfruits, mild fudge and some hints of mild herbs. As it warms up some really mild roasted notes show up. Storm (2677), Amager, Denmark Mar 20, 2008 Bottle. Dark clear amber colour with a nice head. Aroma of parfume, malt and sweetness. Flavour of parfume, sweet malty and caramel. Ends up sweet little spicy and smooth. Ungstrup (10853), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 19, 2008 Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of star anise. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and star anise, leading to a dry bitter and spicy finish. Maria (3816), Thisted, Denmark Feb 2, 2008 Orange-golden with a nice, creamy head. The aroma is fruity in a slightly perfumed way, but I also get notes of roasted malt and caramel. The flavour is quite smooth with pleasant notes of roasted malt and caramel, and I also find the slightly perfumed and spicy flavour of fruits here. The finish is slightly dry and bitter.
