COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ermie & Gerties’ cider is made by selecting and pressing only the very best traditional varieties of cider apples such as Dabinett,Harry Masters Jersey, Sweet Coppin and Lambrook Pippin. Only 100% pure apple juice from Somerset apples is used in making our traditional cider - nothing is added - and it is allowed to ferment naturally. Much of our cider is finished in oak rum and whisky barrels producing a wonderful characteristic vintage quality cider. All Ermie & Gertie’s ciders are dry or medium dry.

Rating 2200. 750ml bottle from Waitrose, Bristol. Deep, slightly hazy golden colour with slight carbonation. Dryish apple fruit aroma, with a hint of TCP. Flavour was tart with not much fruit in evidence, but plenty of smokey whisky notes before a dry finish. Unusual and ok.

Bottle from Watirose, Bath. Pours a pleasantly hazed golden orange, and totally flat. Has a poopy farm aroma, not unpleasant but definitely poopy. The apple character is there, for sure, and it’s super farmy. Whooo, poop. Smells like a cow giving birth. Whoooo. Tastes like the farm on a damp cold morning, when you don’t really want to be awake but the cow is giving birth so you have to attend to the occasion. Has crabapple astringency, mealiness, and disappointment. Not my cup of tea.
