2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml, very Hellenic-looking sky blue and white can. Pours pale with a slim lid and lace. Aroma/flavour: what a relief after chewing on some bargain Russian sewage; smells of beer; grassy hop, pine even, touch of corny malt. Then olive soap. Am I imagining hints of real biscuit-like malt, vanilla wafers, tea and lemon cake? Probably. Way above-average tinned GK lager..tinned lager full stop. Time for home and a pre-match pint of Citra at the Crown I think.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can, 330 ml, at Parga, Greece.
Poured into a lager glass. ABV 5%
Golden yellow colour on the body with a tall, white and soapy head. Good retention at first, but once it starts collapsing, it’s a matter of seconds to disappear. Light lacing on the glass.
Aroma of malts, a bit of grass. Not very appealing.
Sweet and very malty taste, dirty hay flavour, along with stale bread.
Thin body and low carbonation. Quite watery.
A beer to try once and then to avoid.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
500ml blue can picked up at a SuperMarket in Rethymno, Crete. Chalk white head, rapidly diminishing, pale golden body. Distant smell of corn and grass. Sweet corn, skunk-like hops and notes of cardboard in flavour. Sweet ending. About drinkable, to be polite (hotel room, 17.08.2012).
