Der Erusbacher Bräu Frühlingsbock ist ein Starkbier mit 7.0%-vol. Alkohol. Durch die lange Lagerung erhält es einen weichen Körper und eine sanfte Bittere. Traditionsgemäss brauten früher die Mönche volle und starke Biere, die sie in der Fastenzeit als “flüssiges Brot“ zu sich nahmen. Wir haben im Jahr 2001 diese Tradition wieder aufleben lassen und unser Starkbier mit 7.0%-vol. Alkohol zum ersten Mal eingebraut. Seither brauen wir es immer vor Weihnachten damit es bis zur Abfüllung vor der Fastenzeit lang genug reifen kann. Das süffige, dunkelrote Bockbier wartet mit einem vollmundigen Malzaroma und einer lieblichen Restsüsse auf. Der Erusbacher Bräu Frühlingsbock ist in der 0.33 l Mehrwegflasche eingestellt im 20er Harass erhältlich. Alkoholgehalt: 7.0%-vol.

Mittelstarker, etwas säuerlicher sowie honigartiger Antrunk. Das Malz ist zu Beginn erkennbar, verschwindet im Anschluss aber eine Zeit lang. Mild, säuerlich getreidig, herber werdend. Erst zum Ende wieder etwas malziger, wenn auch nur begrenzt intensiv. Wenig aber erkennbar schokoladig im Abgang, Porter-ähnlich. Wenig bockig, dafür aber auch recht süffig. OK. 8/8/9/8/11/8

Bottle (thanx to Allen!): Hazy, reddish amber coloured, smaller beige foamy layer; sweet toasty-caramelly nose with a touch of toffees; moderate to solid sweet-sourish flavour, medium bodied; very shy hops in the aftertaste, sweet toasty-caramelly finish with alcohol and some fruity-infectous traces. Still O.K., but a bit over the top......

(bottle, 33cl, 7.0% abv, with kind permission of Allen) Cloudy, amber colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Sweet and moderately yeasty toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel, cacao, marzipan and berry-fruits. Sweet flavour with a faint acidic touch, almost full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly yeasty and berry-fruity taste with notes of caramel, cacao and vanilla; moderately sweet and slightly toasty bitter finish with a subtle fruity background. There are harbingers of an early infection, otherwise likeable stuff.19.XII.09

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Bov. Pours hazy dark orange to light brown with a huge and off-white head. Aroma is roasted malty and light breadish. Mild fruity to vague milky note a roasted malt presence. Light bitter and lingering roasted finish.

SWISS BEER #111: Bottle, mit Dank an Allen! Hazy deep golden colour with an orange glow, mid-sized head. Malty-fruity nose. Full-bodied, malty background with som fragrant and perfumy hops, combined with a fruity sourness and hints of lemon and orange peel. Smooth and velvety on the palate. Liked it! Thanks a lot for the fantastic beers you sent me!

Bottle, thanks Allen. Cloudy red, golden cream. Fat berrylike aroma. Solid yeasty fruit base akin to belgian ales, strawberries, some port. Medium body, silky mouthfeel. Hit the spot for me.

Bottled 33cl. My version was at 7 ABV. It pours an amber beer with a nice creamy light beige head. Good head retention. Sulphury nose with hints of lemon, lime and malt. Sweet taste. Good malt presence. Faintly metallic. There is quite a bite to this beer. Nice lacework. Caramel, lime and lemon showing up. Warming alcoholic finish.

Beautiful amber color; the head is quite creamy. The aroma is very simple, with light sweetness and fruitness. As a bock, it’s ok but doesn’t have any interesting characteristic; reasonable structure, some malt, light alcohol, strong caramel. Drinkable but too simple.
