From tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy and golden amber to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is mild smoked and roasted malty.smoked, maty and ham. Bitter, toasted malty and meaty smoked finish.

Draught@Eschenbräu. Pours nutmeg brown reddish cloudy with big creamy head. Palate is medium full bodied , texture slick, watery with smokiness hitting in the aftertaste. Smokiness is medium weak but nice overall, could be stronger. Aftertaste is balanced smooth and little dry in smoky. Overall balanced smoked beer.

On tap in the basement. Beautiful chestnut body. Nice smoke, definitely meaty, but not in the smoked pork way, more like a slimy Christmas ham. Soft carbonation, medium body, gentle smoke and roast in the mouth, very moreish. Low bitterness, a bit yeasty, unusual for the style, which is normally lagered like crazy. Smoke is generally mild and about even with the simple malt profile.

Draught at the brewpub. Murky brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is toast, smokey bacon. Flavour is quite subtle to begin with, a creamy light caramel that grows more and more smokey leading to a long satisfying smoked bacon and toasted malt finish

On tap at the brauhaus in mid-March. Pours a murky caramel color with a frothy beige head. Smells of pork and smoke -- FML. Tastes of toasted malt, black pepper, and PORK! One of the best beers I had while in Berlin.
