Pours dark almost black with a froathy brown head. Not get much of an aroma. Wonderful roast flavor with some coffee and chocolate flavor. Carbonate water mouthfeel. Very slight bitterness on the finish, but mostly roast flavors carry on in the finish also. I really enjoyed this one, Many Thanks Martin T!

Thanks to Boutip for this one. I guessed this was a Schwarzbier before I read about it. I guess my beer tasting skills are increasing. Clear walnut color with light head. Malty aroma, licorice root, heavy and woody. I like it. The flavor is lightly malty with carob and light wood. Very “lager forward”” if that makes any sense. Medium slick and carbonated body. Very enjoyable. Wanted to drink it all night actually.

660 ml bottle, featuring and in support of the Achikunipi. Very dark ruby colour, almost opaque, with a mostly lasting creamy and frothy tan coloured head. Roasty and caramel aroma with notes of coffee. Light caramel and bready flavours with a lightly roasted coffee bitter finish. Mouthfeel is light but satisfying.

Dark- Small beige head- Nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee, some chocolate and caramel and some more roasted malt. Not the most complex beer in the world butreally enjoyable and believe me I enjoy this one as often as I can. Having a good beer and supporting a noble cause all at once. Comment faire d’une pierre deux coups!

Dark black with a tan head (full but faded quickly). Malt scent present at arms length. Coffee/chocolat also in the scent. Very dark malty taste reminds mof a dark roast chocolat covered expresso bean. Sweet in the finish. Overall very rich.

roasty, malty aroma; somewhat mild black caraffe roastyness and a bit of chocolate; a slightly detracting metallicness is there; rather thin body, though smooth, and a tad creamy; somewhat dry finish

Tasted in Ottawa. Obtained from Depanne Plus in Hull QC. Appearance is black, with a medium white head that remains in the glass. Very non-descript aroma, slight matly scent but is hard to pick up. Flavour is very roasted buttery sweet, almost like a butter toffee taste. Finishes with a slight mellow hoppiness.

660ml bottle. Big foamy brown head. Very dark brown and red color. Roasted malt, coffee and maybe some chocolate and the flavor. Smooth beer. I like hard to choose between Rescousse and Escousse, I like em both.
