Dark with slight red tinge. Small transient head. Sweet yeasty aroma of roasted caramel malt and faint sour fruit. Upon tasting; chocolate is revealed. Beer becomes sour from middle to the finish. Light carbonation. Thin.

Black with deep red reflections. Nice ’café au lait’ head that doesn’t last long however. A nose of roasted sesame oil and freshly ground coffee. A taste of roasted malt which slides to a subtle bitterness. Maybe a bit thin but well done. A nice spring beer.

Opaque black, tan head of medium size. Aroma first of roasted malt, then some strange metallic smell which soon left room for hoppy berries. The flavour is coffeeish bitter, though some very nice malty nice to balance it. Somewhat thin, though this gives it a nice lightness. Overall, quite a well balanced beer. Enjoyable. Bottle.

La Trappe à Fromage : Dark brown color beer with tiny head. Aroma that vary between roasted malt and spice. Caramelized taste with a low bitterness...not the best from Brasseur RJ but still at the top.

Bottle. Deep black color with ruby reflection, nice foamy brown head fully lasting and nice lacing. Roasted malt and yeast. Very malty, rasoted malt, rich and creamy, very nice.

Bière plaisante.--Bottle- Has roasted malt aroma, taste like chocolate but does not last in mouth. Thus, a pleasant beer.

Dark and opaque, the beer is inviting at first sight. This beer is very close to a porter for it has a very coffeeish taste. The burned of smoked effect is there however and brings a very powerful presence in the finish.

660ml bottle. Very dark ruby color. Nice foamy full lasting brown head and nice lacing. Aroma of fruits, roasted malt hops and molasses. Some smoke. Smooth flavourful body with caramel and roasted malts. Medium mouth feel. Very slight bitterness on the finish. Goes very well with a local dish called “tourtière”.
