Still, lightly hzay golden with a firm creamy head. Velvet texture. Little flavor; only a hint of orange essence over the starch.

Draught. Pours clear light yellow with an average, creamy, white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cereal, grain, meal), average hops (grass, herbs), average yeast (sweat) with notes of chalk. Light bodied, thin texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness.

This beer wouldn’t get a such a generous rating if I wasn’t comparing it to the other bubbly glasses of garbage I drank at Eske’s. The Rio Refresco was only slightly more refreshing than a glass of water from the Rio Grande, and nearly as opaque. It would have been a bit better if it was cold or decently carbonated. Also, when served with a lemon, it tasted like Pledge. Why do I know what Pledge tastes like? Why would I give a beer that tastes like furniture polish a flavor rating of two? It’s probably because I’m drunk.

Light yellow, slightly murky. Aromas were mild, mainly of wheat and light hops. Flavors were hard to find in this one, pretty bland and a little sour. Not like a wheat at all, but maybe I should have put a lemon in it to liven things up a little.
