3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Oakes (10941) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - SEP 21, 2011
Hazy blonde. No head. Abundant green chile aroma. A little watery but a very pleasant, mild chile character to balance.

Draught. Pours hazy gold with an edgy white head. Green chile and light malt, yeast (dough) aroma. Sweet green chile flaovr with malt and yeast body. Light and clean, spicy palate.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 daknole (7204) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 31, 2011
Cloudy yellowish pour. White head that disappeared really fast. Aroma of roated hatch chilis and some apple notes. Flavor is green chili, apples, and malt. Interesting and for a chili beer not all that bad!
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 3fourths (6951) - Straßgiech, Bavaria, GERMANY - MAR 21, 2003
Weak clear yellow color. Smells like the juice at the bottom of a jalapeno jar, and tastes like it too. It was nice of the bartender to warn me to drink this one last, as it has a tendency to leave a rancid taste in your mouth for a long time.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 adnielsen (6200) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 5, 2013
Tap @ Eskes. Pours a fairly clear golden appearance with a white head. Straw, veggie, lightly spicy aroma. Kind of bland, watery, green chili, pale malty flavor with a fair amount of spiciness on the finish.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - OCT 4, 2011
Draft @ brewpub. Hazy yellow. Bright and assertively green chili aroma is unmistakable. I like how they didn’t hold back on it. The body is light and quaffable. Considered giving the palate score a 4 because of how welcome the heat is on the back of my throat. The flavor is really mellow, and balanced. Seems like just the right kind and amt of green chili and the right type of pale malts. Finishes clean, even crisp. Good enough to have a pint of, and actually a good job for what can be a difficult style. But if anyone is going to succeed with a green chili beer it better be a New Mexican!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Braudog (5026) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAY 10, 2004
Cloudy and light yellow. Thin veil of a white head. Nice NM green chili flavor leads into an otherwise fruity tartness. Good way to spice up some boring food.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Strykzone (3814) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JAN 11, 2012
A friend brought this bomber at the brewpub. We shared it. Dingly and cloudy golden with sediment in the bottom of the bottle. The nose is green peppers and that is also the taste. Decent malt, too, but subtleties are difficult to pick out through the peppers. They are warm but not over powering. A decent version.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cavie (3382) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - DEC 22, 2011
Tap at the pub. This beer pours a clear light yellow to straw color. Has a very small amount of white head. Very little. Aroma is sweet, grainy, with maybe a bit of spice. Hard to pick out on the aroma. Flavor is dry grains, a touch of popcorn with the chili spice and heat on the finish. I’m pretty sure there might be a touch of diacetyl in this but the spice covers up a lot.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Aubrey (3347) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUN 26, 2008
Light yellow color; very little head. Light body; low carbonation. After the first sip, I felt quite a bit of warmth in the throat (fairly hot chile, but not as hot as Cave Creek, for example). Malts were weak and they were hard to discern behind the chile’s flavor, aroma and heat. The chile flavors/aromas were pretty fresh, though. Finish was snappy, and it was hard to tell where the chile began and the hops ended, or vice versa. Overall, I thought the beer was pretty good, as chile beers go, but I probably couldn’t tolerate more than one.
