Ar: vanilla, smoke, chocolatey, very much so, cocoa, discrete fruitiness. Ap black colour, small beige head. F: rich, yet soft, not heavily roasted, although it is evident, chocolate is very prominent, soft fruity notes and a distinct, yet laidback bitterness accompanied by a warming finish. M: thick and soft mouthfeel, almost flat carbonation. T: very pleasurable experience, instead of roastiness and coffee, This is an imp with mostly chocolate and vanilla flavours, yet very rich.

Ganska diskret doft. Smaken är mycket bättre med toner av choklad, kaffe och lakrits. Trevlig balans men kanske något tunn eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught @ Ölstugan Tullen. Pours black with a creamy chocolate brown head that doesn’t leave much trace while slowly dissipating. Smell is subtle with roasted malts, liquorice, coffee, vanilla, wood and some pumpernickel. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and tiny sour with coffee, brown sugar, dark bread, liquorice fudge, resinous wood and prunes. Mouthfeel is slightly fizzy, slightly creamy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with coffee, brown sugar and dark bread.

(Draught) Pours black with a brown head. The aroma holds cramy dark chocolate, dusty roast, dark bread, dark coffe, dark syrup, light dark fruits, sweet liquorice, milk and dark fruits. The flavour is light sweet, near medium bitter and tiny acidic. Tones of roast, grassy/mild citric hops, mild sugar and light fruits. The mouthfeel is fizzy, clean and fairly round. Balanced roast and grassy hops on the finish. Medium bodied.

330ml Bottle (Thanks Omhper) - Black in colour with a foamy tan head. Plain chocolate, leather, malt, marzipan and coffee in the aroma. Hops, coffee, liquorice, plain chocolate and roasted malt feature in the smooth and rich taste. There is a slightly peculiar element to the smell, but it’s not unpleasant and doesn’t take away anything from the taste.

Thanks Per! 330 ml bottle sent from Sweden. Is a very black, rich chocolate brown head. Fruity aroma with licorice and cream. Sweet and creamy, plenty of chocolate and coffee. Taste is something else, coco and lots of it and some smoke, malt and coffee. Palate is sort of smooth for this type of beer, plus points. A great desert beer.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 1 Oct 2011) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of liquorice, dark chocolate and black coffee. Roasted, malty taste with black coffee, liquorice, hints of soy sauce, cocoa and a generous bitterness in a dry finish. Almost full body. Quite impressive, and excellently balanced. Lovely!
