   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 10/20
Frovigalning (1456) - Örebro, - NOV 15, 2009
UPDATED: MAY 23, 2010 Appearance: 4/5 It poured a very dark slightly hazy brown-amber liquid with a big dirty white head. Smell: 5/10 Yeast, bread, caramel and some flowers. A whiff of cheese and damp wash cloth. Taste: 5/10 Yeast, bread, caramel also a bit musky if that is a word. Mouthfeel: 4/5 Thick body with a fairly smooth mouthfeel. Comment: This is a decent "sit-on-the-balcony-beer", it’s easy to drink yet has enough flavour and body to make it interesting. It does have some off-flavours that draws down the points a bit, mostly cheese, damp wash cloth and a bit musky. Regarding food I tried this with some baked potatoes with cold sauce and ham. It was a nice combo and the food brought forth the bitterness of the beer. Besides that I think it would work great with any kind of regular pub food. Some fish and chips, burgers or whatever they have on offer. I have a couple more beers from the brewery that I want to try. I remember wondering if they had plans to brew something else besides lagers and English ales. But I have both a porter and a double bock in the fridge.
