From tap@Ruten Fjellstue. An opaque black beer with a dense, creamy choco head on top. Pleasant aroma of plums, dark dried fruits, cocoa and dark chcolate. Flavor start fruity, figs and dates, plums and fruit cocktail. Then some dryish dark malts, cocoa/chocolate, with a pleasantly sour and smoky touch. Subdued bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth as velvet. Medium body strenght. Fine malty and fruity ending. A well-crafted and highly drinkable Porter.

On tap at Ruten Fjellstue - and you won’t get it elsewhere. As dark as they come, thin milk chocolate head. Not a flavour bomb, but subtle. Fruity, roasted malt. A little sour smoke in the finish. A very pleasant porter.

Tap at Ruten Fjellstue where the brewery is located. Pitch black body with a finger of brown head. Aroma is inviting with it’s soft chocolate notes, dark fruity notes and light roastedness. As it warms, the aroma turns sharper, smells a bit sour and lightly smoked, but still wonderfully fruity and smooth. Flavour is full and ballanced. Lightly bitter yet sweet chocolate, light coffee, quite fruity, with a slight tangy sourness in the finish. Smoke comes in as it warms, along with hints of liqourice. Body is full, carbonation is creamy and it feels smooth and soft on the tongue. The best of the 3 they had when I visited.
