jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA Jun 4, 2006 From a 12 oz. twist cap long neck brown bottle with no bottled/freshness date.
Made a decent appearance, poured a clear pilsener golden with a medium sized white foamy head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing, good carbonation.
Had a nice biscuity, with some dry cracker undertones, malty nose framed by a lightly spicy, peppery and grassy hops.
A malty crisp and smooth light medium bodied mouth feel, above average drinkability.
Biscuit doughy and dry crackers, a good malt taste, balanced by a soft peppery and grassy hoppiness and a dry malty finish with a little lemon coming out at the end.
A tasty pilsener, hit the spot after cutting the grass on a hot late spring Sunday, makes me want to go back and try the Stevens Point pilsener, I don’t remember it being as good as this.
MartiniFiend (104), Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours darker gold with a good sized white head.light hop aroma and carmel. Light to the palate. This beer has a nice pils flavor. Too many pils taste like a lager. This beer i would buy again. JPDIPSO (4335), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Sep 5, 2002 Appears to be contract brewed with Point Brewery in Stevens Point, WI. Clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma of light honey which is quite unassuming. Medium body. Very mild malt and straw flavors. Finishes dry with a mild bitterness. Lacks malt flavors and noble hops aroma and flavor for a pilsner. A very basic american standard. CaptainCougar (4678), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 9, 2005 Pours a very clear, still golden with a thin, fizzy and short-lived white head. Has a nice, lightly sweet crystal maltiness and good Saaz hoppy presence with a lager yeasty profile in the aroma. Body is clean and flavorful with pleasant maltiness for a pilsner and some biting carbonation before a crisp, bittersweet finish. Nice authenticity and good drinkability, a decent brew. heemer77 (3827), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jan 23, 2006 Medium gold body with a nice white head. The aroma had some rich corn and carrots. There was also some fresh grassy hops and a little bit of black pepper. The taste had some bite of dark bread crust and some potatoes. There was also a little hay finish with a hint of black pepper spice. This is actually pretty good.
