COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Porters are considered dark ales with it's malt character from the darker malts. It doesn't have the roasted flavor of a stout. Our porter is very smooth dark brown ale.

Poured a dark brown with a smaller sized tan head. Subtle aromas and tastes of cocoa, coffee and roasted malts. Thinner body. Nothing about this one really stood out for me.

I must've had a different beer than everyone else, because mine was full of sweet roasted malts and a very smooth body. Good amount of hoppy bitterness balances very well. A very nice session porter.

Ughsmash (5631) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 13, 2006
Bottled. Poured a deep reddish-brown with a towering cap of creamy beige head and quite a bit of small sediment suspended in there. Nose was airy with faint, burnt dark chocolate malts and soap... not much going on, and not at all enticing. Flavor picked it up a couple notches with more rounded burnt chocolate, some spices, and husky dry hoppage... palate was thin and slick, leaving bitter coffee roast and dried leaves at the finish. Not a good porter.

Tap. Pours dark coffee in color with a creamy tan head. Coffee aroma, roasted, with a hop nose. Dark roasted coffee flavor with a hoppy dark chocolate finish. Dark and medium bodied, silky mouthfeel.

Bottle poured a dark black with brown hilights and a small amber head. Mouthfeel is a little thin for a porter. Aromas of dark malt, coffee, and citrus. Flavors of carmel, burnt malt, and a hint of coffee. Dry pleasently bitter finish.

Bottle from the brewery. Dark brown pour. Smooth toasty aroma, mild chocolate and coffee notes. Flavor is toasty, lightly sweet and finishes with some espresso.
