COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Porters are considered dark ales with it's malt character from the darker malts. It doesn't have the roasted flavor of a stout. Our porter is very smooth dark brown ale.

12 oz. bottle into tulip glass. Purchased at some grocery store in Brookfield, WI sometime in 2004. Smells yeasty and malty with some lemon grass thrown in. Deep red-brown with absolutely no head. Sweet; not much roastiness at all; very flat (I wonder if I got a bad bottle?); not much hop character; slight fruitiness, like diluted cherry juice. Very watery with light to medium body. No character to this beer at all.

This is very orindinary. Sub-ordinary, in fact. Watery and weak in flavor and body.

Bottle, poured a deep opaque brown with very little head. Aroma is a bit weak, but is mainly toasted malt and cocoa. Body is kind of weak with light malt/chocolate flavors. Most of the flavor comes on the front of the palate and the finish is watery. Slight coffee aftertaste.

had at the brewery on a recent visit to estes park. coffee and coco dominate the aroma while a dry hops flavor comes through on the taste. underrated!

Pours an opaque black into the glass with a smallish tan head. Nose is cocoa and chocolate. Mouthfeel is fairly creamy. Nice flavor of coffee, cocoa, toffee and licorice. Not overly carbonated. Nice finish. A good porter than can pair well with wild game, elk steaks or buffalo burgers.

Black in color......opaque. An almost nonexistent head. Complex aroma with varying roasted and sweet notes. Slightly sweet malt taste up front......fairly smooth mouthfeel with a hint of crispness. Finishes with a basic malt back.

Not too bad--didn't seem to have a lot of heft but the flavor was decent. Initial full roasted malt flavor & some chocolate overtones, with a moderate hop finish. Like some other raters, I thought it was slightly watery too.

Malty aroma, little head. Initial flavor but it rapidly fades to nothing. Slightly sweet, roasted finish. Overall, a pretty bland porter. The Estes Park Winter Warlock beer is 10 times better!

This beer made the mediocre Samson stout seem impressive. The appearance was weak, the head was non-existant which seems to be standard with any Estes Park brew. I could not detect any discernable aroma at all. The flavor was dark and bitter with a watery, oily body followed by a metallic aftertaste. I haven’t had many porters but this is easily the worst.
