COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Or award-winning India Pale Ale (1993) is a hop lovers dream. We load up on the Chinook and cascade to create high bitterness and wonderful aroma. We even dry-hop this beer to give it even more hop flavor. Our IPA has a rich copper color and lots of body.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2008 Amber color paired with a creamy top. Airy aroma of Cascades, grapefruit, phenols, and bready, nutty malt. Medium body. Unpronounced flavors of nuts and caramel. Other than the aroma this remains too simple.

Okay, I decided to give this one a try since my best supplier had it out. The beer had a amber/deep red color to it and a small light tan head that didn’t hold. The small was of hops and the first taste definately smacked of hops, making it a bit tangy. A slight citrus flavor becomes apparent after that. It strikes me as being a little light for an IPA. Would have to agree with the other guy that it falls between and IPA and a Pale Ale. There are better IPAs out there.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2004 Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is moderately hoppy (grapefruit), lightly yeasty (dough), lightly malty (toasted grain). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately astringent. Rather crude...heavy on the grapefruit with some raw doughy yeast and drab malt character, unbalanced, astringent, etc. Rough sketch of a beer, as with most other Estes Park brews.

Maybe it’s the altitude, but this is a wonderful hoppy brew. This has been a favorite of mine for 5 - 6 years. Wish I could get some in Maine, but I will next October.
