COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our red is a special bitter, which doesn’t mean that it’s overly bitter, just a well balanced bitterness that is noticeable. This copper-colored ale uses chinook and cascade hops.

Light hop/malt balanced nose. Amber in color. Smooth, malty amber-like ale with a little extra hop kick in the finish. Notes: Pub visit during ’09 GABF

This ale poured a clear, dark red colour with a soapy head. Not very appealing to look at. Scents include pineapple, citrus hopps, slight ripe fruit and hard apple cider. First sip was watery. Very thin mouthfeel. flavours of ripe fruit, hopps and cider. Finish is hoppy with a slight bitterness on the tongue.

Tap at brewery. Amber pour. Caramel malt, hops, golden raisin aroma. Flavor is lightly bitter, lots of caramel malt.

The Stanley Hotel Redrum Ale - dark red-amber with a small head. Aroma of pale mal, bread and slight hops. Tastes slightly sweet with a dry hop finish. The big problem here is body. It’s fairly thin, and the carbonation is so low it looks and feels flat.

Tap at the brewpub. Reddish amber with a foamy beige head. Light roast caramel aroma. Light roast caramel flavor. Mildly bitter finish.

Bottled. Poured clear garnety-amber with a short cap of beige head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet, toasted darker fruits and caramel with touches of cardboard and cleanser.. not pleasant. The flavor was a little better, but the off notes remained at least in some capacity.. dry, toasted caramel and a little fruit again.. tacky with non-descript, non-pleasant bitterness on the finish. Lighter-bodied and dry on the palate.. not all that bitter, but what was there was sharp.. tasted like it might have been an old bottle.

draft at the brewpub - Pours amber with a caramel malt aroma. It tastes of that sweet caramel malt along a good hops bite leading into a mildly bitter finish. Pretty good, definitely better than the first three brews in my sampler.

12oz bottle (also 12oz bottle of Stanley Hotel Redrum ale). Pours a nice deep amber with a thin off white head and has some lacing. Sweet aroma with floral hops and caramel. The flavor is sweet malts that intensify as it warms with a hoppy balance. The mouthfeel is medium and kind of watery.

Also known as Redrum. Thanks kaggie97. Nose of cardboard and paper. Very flat, bitter and rancid. Was this a bad bottle? Drain pour

A little malt in the aroma. This is a decent red. A bit malty, a hint of hops and sweetness. Decent but nothing great.
