0.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
330ml bottle into shaker glass. No Smell. No taste. This is the cheap vodka of beers - no flavour at all. Doesn’t even taste like water. Doesn’t taste like soda water. Just fizziness that slides off your tongue and leaves you wondering what just happened. Pale straw colour with infinitesimal head and no lacing. Reminds me of 1970’s home brew. Utter rubbish.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours light yellow with white head. Almost no aromas, thin body, watery, bitter aftertaste, annoyingly flat cheap lager. I can’t possibly understand what the importers had in mind when they chose to present it @Athens Craft Beer Expo. Estrella, a craft beer? GET SERIOUS!

On tap @ Espana tapas, Broadbeach, QLD. Minimal nose, crystal clear yellow beer with small white head. No bubbles. Flat mouthfeel, slight zing. Finish is sweet and abrupt. Standard Euro-lager, even blander than some.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
330 ml bottle. "Hitu" Supermarket on Easter Island. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium but fast diminishing white head. It leaves an irregular film and lacing. Aroma is adjuncty, like a Budweiser, with clear rice notes and an incredibly dull neutral character. If any hops are used, they provide nothing, since the vague fresh hint comes from the coldness. No malty notes either, but a metallic trace is perceivable. More vegetable touches than other dull Pale Lagers like Corona or Sol. Taste is also quite neutral, with lame sweetness, and corn, pumpkin and rice flavors. Almost whole beer is over and I still cannot find any distinctive taste. It’s sweet-ish though. Ultra light body, high carbonation as expected. Metallic aftertaste. I remember a decade ago when Pale Lagers were the only type of Beer I knew. Now this is rating number 666. I cannot be picky living on Easter Island. "Estrella" means "Star" in Spanish.... the only thing I can link this to number 666, is the star Wormwood from the Book of Revelations.
""The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter."
Oh man, why can’t this be a little bit more bitter...

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer came to me by way of a birthday present from my 3 and 5 year old daughters, who must have loved the shiny red can. I didn’t expect much on the pour, a little too light, a little too clear, a smattering of thin head. Doughy malt with a little corn syrup in the nose. But the taste surprisingly hit the spot, with the burger with rosemary I was eating. It’s the malty bitterness that balanced out the thinner palate, and the sweetness. This is about as complex as my 6 month old son, but a least they didn’t get suckered into syrup sweetness which is the norm.
