750ml bottle courtesy of argoO. Murky gold color. Sweet aroma. Creamy, smooth mouthfeel. Some pleasant malt presence, nice and sweet. Doesnt come off exactly like a typical Belgian White, has a lot more Euro-lager characteristics, but I thought it was pretty crisp and drinkable.

Very fizzy. Lovely head. Very wine like. Citrus aroma. Light with hints of orange and spice. Could be drier. Love the bottle and the information tag around the neck. Classy and well done.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2010 pours a murky golden color with a white head. the aroma is subtle, hard to explain exactly what i sense, but it reminds me of summer. initially it tastes of citrus fruits, it even feels like there is one on your tongue. then it melts away into a creamy finish.

Jästfällning. Först klar sedan alt molnigare.
S: Jäst, citrus, naturell laktris, fruktig, liten tunn men endock fyllig smak, halvtorr. Hade vunnit på att vara mer fyllig!
ES: lång eftersamak av ovan.
Notera: koriandern - var hittade de den.
Föredömligt med liten informationslapp om det mesta om detta öl...

The coriander and orange aroma really opened up like a fine wine. It left the palate clean and goes well with foie gras and cheeseburgers. Replaced champaign with this beer for a new years toast.

I was browsing though my statistics here and noticed I hadn’t tried a beer from Spain ever, which surprised me given my penchant for trying every possible fizzy yellow import I could get my hands on. I figured at some point a Spanish pale lager would have found it’s way into my hands at some point. Instead, I wound up finding this sharp looking bottle of Estrella, which is one of the simplest and coolest bottles I have come across in my many years of drinking beer. The beer itself strikes me as something of a cross between a saison or a witbier and a pilsener or pale lager. It has all the characteristics of the former but is so understated as to resemble the latter to some extent. The pour is a hazed yellow w/ a rather nice looking and long lasting head of tight white bubbles. Gentle fruits and lavender in the noes are followed by crisp, mildly acidic texture. There is only a mild sweetness to be balanced by a touch of bitterness in the finish. Depending on your mindset you might call this bland if you are so inclined but my feeling is that because the balance is just right and everything comes together quite well, delicate would be a better descriptor. I enjoyed this very much in the hot late May sun and could very much see how this could compliment an afternoon in Barcelona.

Super clear golden colour.
Focused malt aromas, getting some bread, sitrus flavours aswell. A hint of something tropical with a touch of banana to it.
Nice creamy foam, clear yeast tones followed by autolyse in a long aftertaste. The tropical flavours ar also present here, but mainly yeastflavours.
This dry witbier is made for food, with it´s clear yeast, sitrus and floral components. A really good mouthfeel, but it lacks some concentration.
