This beer is the jewel in the crown of Damm’s century-long beer-brewing experience. Since 1876, when Alsatian August Kuentzmann Damm founded the company bearing his name, numerous generations of master brewers have perfected this lager until it has become a landmark in the world of beers. This lager beer with a universally appreciated character and taste is ideal for drinking at any time. Its high quality is due to the finest selection of raw materials and the meticulous brewing process. It stands out for its creamy hops-flavoured froth and refreshing taste.

33cl bottle pours a clear yellow/golden color with a small but vanishing pure white soapy head and very little lacing. Smells like a lager should. Aroma has hay and light hoppiness, and thankfully no corn. Body is thin without too much carbonation. Taste is on the sweet side with a slightly bitter finish. Tastes better when cooled to below 40 degrees F on a hot day. Very good for the style. If this were brewed in Wisconsin and available in cheap 30-packs I would drink it often.

Very light and clear golden color with a small head. Has that slight tinge of bitterness typical of lagers, but not in an off-putting way. Has a light and crisp finish without much of an aftertaste.

Average beer to be honest. Slight bitterness and hopiness otherwise nothing much to comment about this beverage.

Draught at the Minzar bar in Tel Aviv. Pours clear and golden, no head. Barley, crispy grain aroma, malty bitterness taste. A little oily, balanced, nice grainy finish.

Pours pale yellow with a small white head. Smells malty. Taste is very malty, like soaked dirty grain and corn with some light tropical fruit flavors as well. Med-high carbonation. After taste is malty with some hop flavors. Sure, it is refreshing. I could drink this on a hot day in Spain, no problem.

hayduke (2531) - Eureka, California, USA - APR 4, 2012
Pours gold with a quick fading white head and almost no lacing. The nose if very light with shows some grassy hay aromas. Light and thin in body with a very watery mouthfeel. The flavor is almost devoid of any obvious malts, with the grassy hops. Not enough bitterness in the finish to be noticeable. There are no bad flavors here, but this beer is so lacking in any real character as to be hard to rate. Served cold on a hot day it is about as refreshing as lightly flavored water.

Estrella Damm has a very thick, white head and a clear, straw appearance, with lots of streaming bubbles and ample lacing. The aroma is of sweet, bready malt and clean water, and the taste is of lightly-toasted cracker, sugar, water, and bitter hops. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Estrella Damm finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and dry. This beer is a clear winner. RJT

Golden yellow colour, white head which disappears quickly. Light tasting larger. Sweet taste, low bitter aftertaste.
