COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is the jewel in the crown of Damm’s century-long beer-brewing experience. Since 1876, when Alsatian August Kuentzmann Damm founded the company bearing his name, numerous generations of master brewers have perfected this lager until it has become a landmark in the world of beers. This lager beer with a universally appreciated character and taste is ideal for drinking at any time. Its high quality is due to the finest selection of raw materials and the meticulous brewing process. It stands out for its creamy hops-flavoured froth and refreshing taste.

Aroma is bursting with notes of cereal, backed with some malt and hoppy notes that envelop the nose. The flavor is a rollicking adventure of cereal, hay, malt and old hops that caress the tongue and mouth. This beer will have you wishing for someone else to finish the other 5 bottles in your fridge!

Longneck bottle poured into a tulip. Regular golden yellow with faint white head. Texture is very soft and watery. Quite carbonated. Metallic taste at first, then it’s light malt, grainy, with some moderate bitterness from the hops at the end. Overall feel is that of a refreshing, light, crisp beer. Not really a gem, but a nice, quite decent pale lager in the appropriate setting. I just don’t see much difference between this one and other macrobrewery lagers that cost less than half per bottle.

Clear gold with almost no head to speak of. Light skunk aroma. Grainy taste with some bitterness. Crisp light dry finish. Not a Jewel - more like a semi-precious stone.

In the bottle at the 2008 Crescent Moon Summer Beer Fest. Pours pale yellow with a big head. Has a slightly spicy aroma. Salt and paprika. Thin and refreshing. There are no residual flavors to the beer - it runs away.

Clear golden colour with a thick head. Head dissipates quickly. Malty aroma but not very strong. It LOOKS watery. Moderate carbonation. Has a sort of sickly sweet taste, with no discernable qualities. Not a great beer.
